Originally founded in 1960 and named Tree Towns Congregation by eight families, the congregation was renamed Etz Chaim in 1970. 1973 the congregation moved from Elmhurst, IL to Lombard, IL. The congregation repletes itself on being a congregation the welcomes the young and old and a flourishing center for Judaism.
Today, more than 500 families in Chicago's western suburbs attend the Congregation Etz Chaim. The Synagogue is affiliated with the Union of Reformed Judaism (URJ) and the Community Foundation for Jewish Education (CFJE). Office hours for the Synagogue are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
